A 44-year-old Wismar, Linden businessman was found with 2063.8 grams of suspected marijuana after a search was conducted in his home on Monday at about 14:00 hours.
A police report stated that police ranks let by two inspectors who were acting on information received proceeded to Canvas City, Wismar. They made contact with the suspect who was alone at the time in a building that is located at Bayrock Junction, one mile extension, Wismar and told him that they had received information that he had narcotics in his possession for trafficking.
The police added that they then searched the building and found the suspected cannabis under a wooden counter which contained several ziplock bags with leaves, seeds and stems.
The man was told of the offence committed and cautioned. A further search was conducted by the said ranks at the back of the building, where they discovered a bucket which contained three black plastic bags. Contained in the plastic bags were a quantity of leaves, seeds and stems, suspected to be Cannabis Sativa.
The suspect once again admitted ownership of the narcotics. He was then arrested and escorted to the Mackenzie Police Station, where the suspected marijuana was weighed in his presence and amounted to 2069.8 grams. He is currently in custody pending further investigation and charges.
