A Palmyra cattle farmer was yesterday afternoon discovered dead in his house after a stench began emanating from the premises.
Dead is Heeralall, 53, a cattle farmer of Lot 113 Palmyra Village.
It is suspected that the man would have died sometime between Monday and Thursday at the location.
He was last seen alive on Monday afternoon by a niece. However, after a couple of days went by and the man’s niece did not see him again she decided to check on him yesterday afternoon.
It was noted that at that stage a stench began emanating from the house. After entering, the young woman made the gruesome discovery of his heavily decomposed body on his bed.
The police said that the body was examined for marks of violence but due to the state of decomposition it was difficult to ascertain.
The body was then taken to the Bailey’s Funeral Home awaiting a post-mortem examination as an investigation has since been launched.
