Carifesta and Homestretch avenues and Thomas Lands are set for major upgrades.

In an advertisement in today’s Sunday Stabroek, the Ministry of Public Works invited bids for the projects.

The rehabilitation and upgrade of Carifesta Avenue is pegged at $453m. The rehabilitation and upgrade of Homestretch Avenue is set at $290m. Rehabilitation of a section of Thomas Lands is projected at $405m. Work on a part of Thomas Lands had failed last year and had to be redone and even that fix has shown signs of deterioration.

The geometric improvement to Vlissengen Road is estimated to cost $85m while the upgrading of the existing GuySuCo Bulk Terminal Wharf at Ruimveldt could see works of around $106m.

Bids are to be opened on March 15.
