Back Circle and Bent Street will contest the Rocks Auto Trans and Spares Parts ‘Legendary Cup’ Futsal Championship match, following convincing semi-final wins at the National Gymnasium, Mandela Avenue on Saturday evening.
East Ruimveldt powerhouse Back Circle thrashed North East La Penitence heavyweight and fierce rival Sparta Boss by a 5-1 score-line. A 3-0 score at the end of the first period effectively ended the contest as Sparta Boss seemed incapable of dealing with the relentless nature of the Back Circle attacking line.
Chief threat Jermaine Beckles recorded a hat-trick in the 18th, 22nd, and 33rd minute, whilst Stephon Reynolds and Simeon Moore started the rout with goals in the sixth and 10th minute respectively.
On target in the loss was Darron Niles in the 30th minute.
Likewise, Bent Street mauled Tiger Bay 7-2 in the earlier semi-final affair. Quincy Adams tallied a three-goal haul in the 17th, 38th, and 40th minutes, with Marcus Wilson kick-starting the goal rush with a double in the third and fourth minutes.
Contributing goals in the 12th and 23rd minute respectively were Daniel Wilson and Trayon Bobb. For Tiger Bay, Deon Alfred recorded conversions in the 10th and 20th minutes.
Bent Street and Back Circle will now compete for the coveted title on Saturday at the same venue while the losers will match skills in the third-place playoff.
The winner of the tournament will pocket $500,000 and the championship trophy. On the other hand, the second, third, and fourth-place finishers will receive $250,000, $150,000, and $100,000 respectively.
On the individual side, the Most Valuable Player (MVP) will receive one motorcycle. Similarly, a patron will receive one motorcycle on the night of the final.
