Reference is made to the letter by Clement J Rohee in Stabroek News, 21 February 2023 (`What would this world look like at the end of the war?’)
The letter, in my view, is very timely, well-written, lucid in style and embellished with a range of notable scholarly views, including those of the 13th century Thomas Aquinas, Philosopher-Theologian and 21st century Pope Francis.
As the letter has noted, many complex questions are currently being debated and will be debated, in diplomatic, academic and political circles.
However modest, I should like to endorse Mr. Rohee’s call to support strong and wide-ranging “advocacy for the Caribbean as a Zone of Peace and for world peace and international security.”
Additionally, one would hope that a coordinated, unified Caribbean position may be unequivocally expressed at forthcoming debates in the United Nations General Assembly.
