The Flying Ace Cycling Club will host its  annual Republic Day (Mashramani) 50-mile road race today in New Amsterdam with the country’s best riders expected to be on show.

This is the first time the event will be  sponsored by De Peoples Pawn Shop and Money When You Need It Most and will see riders approaching the starting line for a 10.00 hours ride off.

The wheelsmen will assemble in front of Rainbow Beer Garden, Republic Road and Charles Place before turning into Vryheid Street and then into Main Street. The riders will then make their way into Tacama Turn before heading back onto Republic Road. This will be done 12 times in the Open, Veterans and Juniors’ categories while the female riders will do one lap.
