The residents of Charlestown would like to express our gratitude to the Minister of Health, Dr. Frank Anthony for the Ministry’s response to the letter dated December 25th 2022, “This Individual is a threat to the safety and security of innocent citizens of Charlestown”, and Minister of Home Affairs, Robeson Benn.
The Ministry of Health’s actions were done through the intervention of Dr. Timothy Morgan, the Head of the Mental Health Unit, in collaboration with staff of the GPHC Psychiatry department” and the Guyana Police Force.
The individual received much needed treatment and is also being followed up monthly, as part of the Ministry of Health’s Mobile Psychiatry Home Visit initiative. We, the residents, are finally experiencing some peace after years of trauma.
