65-yr-old Essequibo supervisor arrested on possession of narcotics

Stephen Vaugh, a 65-year-old supervisor of Lot 105 Bedford Street, Queenstown, Essequibo Coast, was arrested on Sunday at about 11:30 am by ranks of Regional Police Division ranks #2 for the possession of narcotics. 

A police press release stated that ranks acted on information received and went to Vaughn’s home and on arrival, informed Vaugh that they were there to conduct a search on his premises for narcotics. While the search was ongoing, police observed a black bag on a barrel at the side of the bed.  The bag was opened in the presence of Vaughn, where one transparent plastic bag containing a quantity of leaves, seeds and stems suspected to be cannabis was found.

Vaughn was told of the offence committed, cautioned and he admitted ownership. He was then arrested and taken to the Anna Regina Police Station along with the suspected cannabis which was weighed in his presence and amounted to 19.6 grams. Vaugh is currently in police custody pending charges.
