Dear Editor,
You are looking at a historic building where I have some historic memories. On the street where this building is located, I was born. At this building, I attended my first school and ate my first breakfast comprised of milk and sweet biscuits. At this building, I was first introduced to sports. I played my first game of table tennis and I fought my first fight in a boxing ring. It was here, at this building I made my first friends. At this building, I found something constructive to do with my time and to stay off the streets and avoid trouble. I owe a lot to the YMCA, not only for its recreational activities, but for its adherence to the principles of its founder, George Williams, of fostering development of the body, mind and spirit. I have so many fun memories of the YMCA. Something should be done to preserve this historic building.
Sincerely,
Anthony Pantlitz
