All eyes will tomorrow be on Rajendra Chandrika and Keemo Paul when the second match of the first round in the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) senior inter-county four-day tournament between Essequibo and the Select XI gets underway at the National Stadium, Providence.
Chandrika a former Guyana and West Indies player returns to the local cricket setup after a hiatus of a few years while ace all-rounder Paul will be keen to remind the West Indies selectors of his all-round prowess.
The two sides boost strong attacks with Essequibo holding the slight advantage heading into the clash.
National players, Kemol Savory and Ronsford Beaton will lead the line-up.
The team is led by the experienced Antony Adams who will be supported by Richardo Adams and Kevon Boodie, both of whom have represented Guyana.
The team that will be coached by national coach, Ryan Hercules, also features Nealand Cadogan, Quinten Sampson, Ronaldo Renee, Leon Swamy, Avinash Persaud, Malcolm Hubbard and Wazim Mohamed.
Meanwhile, the Select XI will be led by Chandrika and will include a group of young talented players like National under-19 captain, Alvin Mohabir, Jeremiah Scott, Zachary Jodah, Rajendra Ramballi, Nathan Persaud, David Williams, Carlos La Rose, Mark Gonzales, Jonathan Rampersaud, Zeynul Ramsammy, Sylus Tyndall, Kevin Umroa and first-class seamer, Demetri Cameron. The team will be coached by Clive Grimmond.
The second and third rounds of the GCB Senior Inter-County 4-Day Tournament 2023, will be played respectively from Thursday to Sunday and from March 15, to March 18.
