The Kitty businessman who was ordered to stay 1,000 feet away from his daughter for life now awaits sentencing after he was found guilty of the offences of inflicting grievous bodily harm and assaulting the 25-year-old woman.

The businessman, Devanand Singh, yesterday appeared in the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court before Principal Magistrate Leron Daly and was found guilty. The magistrate deferred sentencing until March 23 after the defendant’s attorney, Nigel Hughes, asked for a probation report to be done.
