A Police Constable was yesterday released on $100,000 bail following his arraignment in the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court for stealing a quantity of gasoline from one of the state-owned Guyoil Company’s gas stations.
The charge against the serving member of the Guyana Police Force (GPF), 24-year-old Tyrese Tanner of West Ruimveldt Housing Scheme, Georgetown, alleged that on July 5th 2022 at the Guyoil Service Station in Kitty, while being employed for public service by the Govern-ment of Guyana he stole fifteen gallons of gasoline valued $18,343.
Tanner, who made his appearance before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennon, pleaded not guilty to the charge and was required to post the sum of $100,000 bail for his release. The matter was then adjourned to March 14th for statements.
