Two years after she copped the runner-up position in the 2020 Regional Recognition Awards Programme organised by the Association of Caribbean Commisisoners of Police (ACCP), Superintendent Nicola Kendall on Tuesday received her trophy.
The delay in the presentation was due to the COVID-19 restrictions, a release from the Guyana Police Force indicated.
Superintendent Kendall, who is currently Head of the force’s Strategic Planning Unit, of the GPF was selected from a list of applicants from various Caribbean countries in the Top Career Move category of the Programme. A representative of the ACCP, Wayne Clarke, disclosed that under this initiative, the awardees are in three categories: Top Career Moves, Top Community Policing and Top Crime Fighters.
At the simple handing-over ceremony, which was done in the presence of Commissioner of Police [Ag], Clifton Hicken, Clarke presented the trophy and award to Superintendent Kendall. Accord-ing to Clarke, “we are now delivering the prizes”, due to the restrictions associated with the COVID-19 pandemic.
Commissioner Hicken, and by the extension the entire force, the Amalgamated Securities Services and the ACCP all extended congratulations to Superintendent Kendall for her sterling achievement.
