The Demerara Cricket Club was in a strong position at the end of the rain affected first day of the Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA) first-division two-day competition.

At the close of play of the General Industrial and Supplies Enterprise (GISE), Star Party Rentals and the Trophy Stall competition, DCC were 171-1 with Sachin Singh not out on 78 and national player Tevin Imlach not out on 68. The batsman dismissed is Jayden Campbell.

Play started late due to overnight rain.
