Royston Peniston, the popular businessman man, who was recently nabbed by the Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit (CANU) with a quantity of narcotics, yesterday made his appearance in the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court where he was remanded to prison.

The forty-four-year-old man of Festival City, North Ruimveldt, Georgetown and owner of the Iguana Night Club appeared before Principal Magistrate Sherdel Isaacs-Marcus where he was charged with trafficking 2.178 kilograms (Kg) of cocaine at the aforementioned address on March 3rd.

Peniston pleaded not guilty to the charge and the prosecutor objected to bail which resulted in the Magistrate remanding the man to prison. The matter was then adjourned until April 3rd.
