The second night of the Guyana Basketball Federation (GBF) Senior Men’s Outdoor Championship at the Burnham Court, Parade Ground ended abruptly, as Ravens and Kobras walked off the playing area before the conclusion of their respective matches, and refused to resume the fixtures, citing refereeing issues.
The first match of the evening between Ravens and Colts ended in the fourth quarter with 7:59 remaining on the clock and the score 35-33 in favour of the latter.
Ravens coach Marlon Rodriguez was ejected from the contest due to his overall conduct which included using abusive and foul language to the officials. He received two technical fouls which is an automatic expulsion from the game.
However, he still remained on the bench and continued his unsportsmanlike behaviour. Another two technical fouls were issued to the captain who automatically became the coach due to Rodriguez aforesaid dismissal. The team then walked off the playing area and refused to resume the encounter.
