A motor car was completely destroyed after it caught on fire around 4.30 pm yesterday along the Number 3 Village, West Coast Berbice Public Road.
A resident yesterday told Stabroek News that police stopped the car and informed the driver that smoke was emanating from the engine area.
The driver and another occupant, who are from Ithaca Village, then hurriedly exited the vehicle, and shortly after the entire car went up in flames.
The fire service was immediately contacted and shortly after arrived at the scene and eventually put out the fire. However, by that time the entire vehicle had been destroyed.
