Orlando Douglas who had been charged back in 2018 with the murders of Pandit Deonarine Liliah and his son, Omkar Liliah; was recently set free after a Judge upheld a no-case submission in his favour.
Following the conclusion of Douglas’ trial some weeks ago, High Court Judge Jo-Ann Barlow discharged the former accused, after finding that the prosecution had failed to establish a prima facie case against him.
With the Court’s finding that there was no case for Douglas to answer, the Judge directed the jury to return a formal verdict of not guilty, thereby setting him free.
