Eagles defeated the Guyana Defence Force to clinch the Demerara Volleyball Association (DVA) Senior Men’s League championship, prevailing 3-1 yesterday at the National Gymnasium, Mandela Avenue.
The final started poorly for the Eagles outfit as they lost the first set 23-25. However, Eagles responded in the second stanza to level the contest 1-1, as they triumphed 25-17. A 2-1 advantage was realised, as the Eagles unit secured the third set 25-10.
The championship was then secured, as Eagles clinched the fourth stanza 26-24. Meanwhile, Castrol Strikers clinched the third position, after defeating Young Achievers via a walkover on Wednesday at the same venue.
