The Guyana Police Force (GPF) and Belle West secured their berths to the main draw in the inaugural West Demerara Football Association ‘Commander Cup’, following playoff wins on Wednesday evening at the National Track and Field Centre, Leonora.
GPF arrested Wales 10-0 in the feature playoff encounter. Similarly, No. #1 All-Stars dismissed Belle West by a 4-1 score-line.
Meanwhile, the tournament will continue this evening with the main draw at the same venue. At 18:30hrs, Eagles will oppose Slingerz FC whilst Den Amstel will engage Uitvlugt from 20:30hrs.
On Sunday at the same venue, Pouderoyen will lock horns with No. #1 All-Stars at 18:30hrs, whilst GPF will take aim at Crane Rovers from 20:30hrs.
The playing dates for the main draw of the tournament are March 18th [Semi-final], and 25th [Final].
The winner of the tournament will pocket $500,000 and the championship trophy, whilst the runner-up will receive $250,000 and the corresponding accolade. The third and fourth-place finishers will receive $150,000 and $100,000 respectively and the corresponding trophy.
