The ninth Milo Secondary Schools U18 football competition will resume today at the Ministry of Education ground on Carifesta Avenue.
In the opening fixture at 11:00hrs, Cummings Lodge will take aim at Rosignol whilst The Bishops’ High will battle Vryman’s Erven from 12:45hrs.
In the third fixture, West Demerara will match skills with Wismar/Christianburg from 14:00hrs, with St. Stanislaus will face off against Dolphin at 15:45hrs in the final fixture.
The event will continue tomorrow at the same venue with another round of matches. At 11:00hrs, Santa Rose will oppose New Amsterdam whilst Charity will tackle New Central from 12:45hrs.
In the third fixture, Mackenzie High will engage President’s College from 14:00hrs, with Vergenoegen opposing West Ruimveldt at 15:45hrs in the final fixture.
The event will feature 32 teams competing in an initial group stage format comprising eight groups of four. The top two finishers from each pool will advance to the round of 16 stage.
The winner of the event will pocket $300,000 towards a school project and the championship trophy, with the second, third, and fourth place finishers walking away with $200,000, $100,000, and $75,000 respectively for a school initiative and the corresponding accolade.
