An Essequibo Coast man appeared at the Suddie Magistrate’s Court on Thursday for the offences of driving under the influence of alcohol. He was placed on bail of a total of $45,000 for three charges after he pleaded not guilty.
The police have identified the man as Parsutham Narine, a driver, of Lot 22 Airy Hall, Essequibo Coast. The offences occurred on Tuesday, March 7, on the Airy Hall Public Road, Essequibo Coast.
According to a police release, the defendant appeared at the Suddie Magistrate Court on Thursday, where the charges were read to him. He pleaded not guilty to the three charges and bail was granted in the amount of $45,000. The charges and corresponding bail are as follows: driving under the influence of alcohol – $30,000 bail; dangerous driving – $10,000 bail; and fail to give right of way – $5,000.
The case was adjourned to April 20 for trial.
