Sisters super-heavyweight Abiola Jackman and light-welterweight Alesha Jackman will depart Guyana today for New Delhi, India, where they will participate in the Women’s World Boxing Championships.
The championships, which gets underway Monday, will end on March 26.
The two Caribbean champions, met with president of the Guyana Boxing Association, Steve Ninvalle yesterday, hours before they were due to depart.
They were accompanied by Coach Seibert Blake, who will travel with the two sisters to India.
Blake, a three star coach, who will serve as trainer for the sisters, will also participate in the IBA Cutman and Technician Course while in India.
The course is only for officials affiliated to their national federations and who are registered for the World Championships in the capacities of team coaches, doctors, trainers and physiotherapists.
During yesterday’s meeting, Ninvalle urged the trio to give of their best at all times and to keep the Golden Arrowhead flying.
