Police detectives from Regional Police Division #4B are investigating the death of Brian Thomas, a 59-year-old resident of Kuru Kururu, Soesdyke-Linden Highway, who was allegedly murdered on March 8th, 2023, between 23:00hrs and 23:30hrs.
Police enquiries disclosed that a 60-year-old unemployed woman, the ex-wife of the deceased, and of Kuru Kururu visited the Kuru Kururu Police Outpost on March 6th, 2023, at about 11:00hrs and reported that her ex-husband (Thomas) threatened to ‘chop her up’ and kill her. As a result, Thomas was arrested and placed into custody at the Highway Patrol Base pending further investigations. A police press release stated that on March 7th at about 22:00 hours, Thomas was released from custody, and upon arrival at his house, he observed the front door open, and the house ransacked. Thomas subsequently reported a ‘break-in’ at the Kuru Kururu Police Outpost and related to the police that his ex-wife wanted to kill him for his house and land.
