Police are continuing with their investigations into a fatal accident which occurred at about 22:50 hours on Friday on Long Creek Public Road, Soesdyke-Linden Highway, after a driver lost control of his vehicle, causing it to flip several times.
A police release said that the incident involved motor car PTT 6945 owned and driven by Darren Henry, 41 years old, who died in the accident. The other occupant was Sheneka Campayne, 36 years-old, both from Phase 1B Wisroc Housing Scheme, Linden.
Police enquiries disclosed that motor car PTT 6945 was proceeding south along the eastern carriageway of the road in the vicinity of Long Creek at a fast speed when the driver lost control of the vehicle. The car ended up on the western carriageway of the road where it turned turtle several times.
The driver was hurled from the vehicle onto the road, sustaining injuries to his head and body. He was picked up in a semi-conscious state and taken to the Linden Hospital Complex where he was examined by doctors on duty.
He later succumbed to his injuries. The body was the escorted to the Linden Hospital’s mortuary for a post-mortem examination. The other occupant was removed from the scene of the accident in a conscious state and without injury.
