West Ruimveldt, East Ruimveldt and Carmel secured contrasting wins, when the 9th Milo Secondary Schools U18 Football Championship resumed yesterday at the Ministry of Education ground on Carifesta Avenue.
West Ruimveldt crushed Queen’s College 7-0. Donovan Welcome fashioned a hat-trick in the 12th, 20th and 27th minute, whilst Elijah Sattaur, Nicholas James, Malachi Wray, and Isaiah Peters scored in the 36th, 47th, 59th and 65th minute respectively.
Meanwhile, East Ruimveldt downed Bartica 4-2. Daniel Sutton crafted a hat-trick in the 20th, 39th, and 51st minute, whilst Joshua Leitch netted in the 33rd minute. For the loser, Rondell Loncke and Ezequiel Baldeo scored in the 30th and 57th minute respectively.
Also, Carmel edged Dora 3-2. Dwayne Baptiste tallied a double in the 18th and 64th minute, whilst Shem James netted in the 34th minute. For the loser, Nkosi Morris recorded two conversions in the 39th and 51st minute.
In other results, Santa Rosa and Dolphin played to a 2-2 stalemate. Darius Williams and Nelon Lucas scored for Santos Rosa in the 27th and 40th minute apiece while Cadwell Peters and Gary Burnette netted for Dolphin in the 45th and 55th minute respectively.
The event will continue today at the same venue with another round of matches. At 11:00hrs, Vryman’s Erven will oppose West Demerara whilst Mackenzie High will tackle Patentia from 12:45hrs.
In the third fixture, Chase Academy will engage Bygeval from 14:00hrs, with Santa Rosa opposing St. Stanislaus College at 15:45hrs in the final fixture.
