A businessman yesterday appeared at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan where he was charged with attempting to forge a document from the Commercial Registry.
The charge against 39-year-old Andrew Hunte of Lance Gibbs Street, Queenstown, Georgetown, states that on July 6, 2021, in Georgetown, with intent to defraud, he forged a certain document, to wit a business registration certificate purporting to show that it was issued by the Commercial Registry knowing same to be false.
Hunte, who was represented by attorney Bernard Da Silva, pleaded not guilty to the charge. He was granted bail in the sum of $150,000. The matter was then adjourned until April 5.
