Hardware company Gafoors yesterday presented cars to six lucky winners of its Christmas promotion and a seventh for the Diamond area is soon to be named.
The branded and registered cars were presented at its McDoom, East Bank Demerara location.
The six lucky car winners were: Joel Williams, Natalee Azore, Parbhudyal Seenauth, Kim King, Lakeraam Singh, whose representative was David Harridat and Azad Khan whose representative was Izad Khan. The winners expressed their gratitude to Gafoors for granting them the opportunity to win the promotion.
This seven-car Christmas promotion was launched on September 9th and concluded on December 29th 2022 and over 250 prizes valued at approximately thirty million dollars have been won.
Customers were able to enter by spending $5,000 in any of the self-service stores and $100,000 in any of the wholesale departments. All of the outlets across Guyana participated in the promotion. The first drawing was held on the 31st October, the second on the 30th of November and the final drawing on the 29th December 2022.
The Diamond outlet which was opened in September last year was severely affected by the construction of roads so business was affected. The Diamond outlet drawing will be done at the end of this month.
The winners were randomly selected in the presence of all auditors and the final drawing was done independently by DJ Stress. After the winning entries were verified, the names of the winners and videos of all drawings were posted on social media for full transparency.
Williams told Stabroek News that is a great feeling even though it was unexpected. Azore in her comments to this newspaper said that she is overjoyed, ecstatic and it is God’s gift. She added that she and her husband are beyond grateful. King said that she is overjoyed and very delighted. Meanwhile, Izad Khan who was the representative for his older brother Azad Khan told Stabroek News “I feel really good because my brother is a pensioner and he use to shop at Gafoors for years and it feels really good that they are giving back to him, my brother is also very happy for this…”
