Sebert Blake, is on the cusp of receiving his certificate from the International Boxing Association (IBA) Cutman Technician Certification Course.
This is according to the Three-Star Coach who is currently in India where the course took place along with the ongoing Women’s World Boxing Championships.
Said Blake yesterday, “It was a success based on the feedback from the lecturer. I will be receiving my certificate and the official results perhaps in the next two week from IBA.”
Blake added “I don’t have the official information, but I was told by the lecturer, I am in the high 90s, he said most of the scores are in the 90s (percent). It was a short but intense course, I learnt a lot.”
Blake sojourn was facilitated by the Guyana Boxing Association, and he thanked the brass for making it a resounding success.
He then went on to describe the course and what knowledge he gained.
“Some of the simple things that I have learnt, I used to take for granted in terms of the corner. With this course, I was able to get in depth knowledge on how to maneuver, how to observe, how to prevent and manage injuries in a bout, and also how to treat injuries after the bout.”
Blake continued, “It was a good course and it gave me an eye opener for different perspectives in the corner.”
Blake along with boxing siblings, Abiola and Alesha Jackman are scheduled to return home on Monday.
