The Georgetown Cricket Association hosted an under-17 50-over trial match yesterday at the Queen’s College ground with three batsmen scoring half-centuries.
Divided into two sides, GCA (2) won the toss and opted to bat first and posted 179 all out in 36.4 of their 40 overs. GCA (1) coasted to 180 for three in 34 overs.
Shamar Apple starred with bat in hand for GCA (2) hitting 55 from 53 balls. He stroked two sixes and five fours while sharing in a 68-run partnership with Shiloh Adams who made 50 from 54 balls. His innings was decorated with three sixes and three fours with both batsmen retiring.
