United We Stand Cycle Club riders took their talents to Berbice yesterday and swept the podium in the Cheddi Jagan Memorial road race.
Briton John, Jamual John and Alex Leung incredibly finished 1-2-3 in the 23rd edition of the 72-mile sunbaked, heavily winded event.
The trio calmly rode in almost simultaneously with their arms raised in a display of dominance and team work.
John stopped the clock at 3h:03.35s for the race which got underway from outside the People’s Progressive Party/Civic’s Freedom House office on Main Street, New Amsterdam, proceeded to Corriverton, returned to Port Mourant for the finish.
Jamual John who rode in officially in second, won half of the eight sprint prizes, while two went to Leung and one to Briton John. The other prime was won by Jaikarran Sukhai.
Berbician, Romello Crawford finished fourth, while Curtis Dey and Alex Mendes filled out the top six rewarding senior positions.
