Kwakwani, Lower Corentyne, Vryman’s Erven and New Amsterdam Multilateral recorded victories when the Regional Conference in the Youth Basketball Guyana (YBG) Secondary School Championship continued.
In the Linden/Kwakwani section, Kwakwani Secondary downed Linden Foundation 33-23. Kelon Phillips top scored for the victors with 14 points.
In the Corentyne zone at the Port Mourant Training School’s Court, Lower Corentyne crushed Skeldon Line Path 39-9.
Leshon Lovell recorded 15 points and eight rebounds while Qualon Crandon added eight points. For the losers, Jaheem Brown and Devon Davis scored four and three points respectively.
In the New Amsterdam section at the Berbice High School facility, Vryman’s Erven battled past Berbice High 20-13.
Nohoj Baird top scored with 11 points. For the losers, Antwoine Nelson scored seven points.
Also, New Amsterdam Multilateral dismissed Berbice Education Institute 24-13. The combination of Kymani Spellen and Joshua Hamilton tallied eight and five points respectively. For the losers, Stefon Carter scored seven points.
In the East Bank regional playoffs at the Covent Garden court, the hosts battled past Camile’s Academy 22-18. Amaan Yusuff bagged 12 points and eight rebounds whilst Jonathan Persaud added eight points and five rebounds. For the losers, Mattias Grant tallied six points and four rebounds.
Diamond Secondary dismantled Houston 36-2. Benghazi King recorded 16 points and seven rebounds, whilst Kymani Jabbar added 10 points.
