An unbeaten century from Mavinda Dindyal spurred the Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) to a 40-run win over Transport Sports Club (TSC) in the Demerara final of the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) Government of Guyana (GOG) Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS), U19 Inter-Club Super-50 tournament.
In what was a captivating final at the Georgetown Cricket Club, Bourda, ground,
GCC, batting first, posted a formidable 242-6 in the match reduced to 40-overs-a-side.
The highlight of the innings was Dindyal’s majestic knock of 145.
Dindyal smashed 10 fours and five sixes receiving support from Krsna Singh who made 20 not out.
Transport bowlers toiled for their wickets with Shaquan Walters (2-24) and Riyad Latif (2-41), the best of the lot.
Chasing the stiff total away from home, Transport fell short of their target ending on 202, despite half-centuries from Alvin Mohabir (58) and Jeremiah Hohenkirk (53).
GCC bowlers were excellent on home turf, led by Omari Lallbachan (3-44) Rivaldo Phillips (3-54) and Singh who returned to grab (3-25).
During the presentation ceremony post-match, Dindyal was adjudged Man-of-the-match for his masterful century.

The Berbice county matches in the GCB/GOG/MCYS Under-19 Boys Inter-Club Super-50 tournament, will continue after the completion of the GCB/GOG/MCYS U19 boys Inter-County three-Day tournament.
