A Kuru Kururu man will spend some three weeks on remand and more jail time over an allegation of felonious wounding, to which he has admitted.
Suspect has been identified as Romel Torres, a 24-year-old labourer of Kuru Kururu, Soesdyke/Linden Highway. He appeared at the Diamond/Golden Grove Magistrates Court before Senior Magistrate Judy Latchman where he was charged with felonious wounding.
According to a police statement on the matter, the incident in question occurred on May 3.
No details were given on what transpired on that day, but according to the release, Torres was charged on Thursday.
Torres after hearing the charge chose not to waste the court’s time and pleaded guilty to the offence.
The magistrate refused bail and he was remanded to prison. The matter was adjourned to May 29, 2023 for sentencing.
