Aliyah Abrams is the new 400m record holder

Aliyah Abrams is the new national 400m metre record-holder.

The two-time Olympian, erased the previous national record (50.71s) yesterday at the New Life Invitational in Freeport, The Bahamas, winning the quarter mile event in 50.20s.

Running out of lane seven, Abrams bested fellow podium dwellers, Charokee Young of Canada (50.45s) and Roxana Gomez of Cuba (51.01s). Abrams, 26, created history as the new queen of the 400m, bettering four-time Olympian, Aliann Pompey’s previous mark set in 2009.
