The Guyana National Olympians Association (GNOA) honored the nation’s lone Olympic medalist, Mike Parris yesterday, unveiling a bust of his image at the Merriman’s Mall.
Parris, snared a bronze medal in the bantamweight division at the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow, Russia.
To honor his heroic and historic achievement, the association decided to erect the bust of Parris specifically located on Shiv Chanderpaul Drive between Church Street and North Road.
