Civil Defence Commission responds to Mahdia fire tragedy

A team of senior personnel including the CDC’s Director General, Col Nazrul Hussain has travelled into Mahdia to assess the situation and provide support.

The Civil Defence Commission (CDC) yesterday responded to the fire at the Mahdia Secondary School which left 19 children dead.

In a statement, the CDC said that yesterday it donated a quantity of personal items to the Mahdia fire victims who are now under  care at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC).

Those items include hygiene products, clothing and other personal care items.
