National heavyweight Eagles dismissed VenGuy 3-0 when the Demerara Volleyball Association (DVA) senior men’s league continued Monday evening at the National Gymnasium, Mandela Avenue.
The Eagles outfit dominated the encounter from the start as they soared to a 1-0 advantage following a commanding 25-10 win in the first set. Although VenGuy improved in the second set, Eagles still increased their lead, as they romped to a 25-16 score.
While VenGuy produced their best showing in the third set, it was not enough to force a fourth as they lost 21-25. The event continues today at the same venue at 20:00hrs, as Castrol Strikers will oppose newcomer Alphas.
The event which is being played utilizing an initial round-robin format, features six teams. The other participants are Young Achievers and the Guyana Defence Force.
