The Guyana Amateur Powerlifting Federation (GAPLF) is set to host its annual Intermediate/Masters Championships tomorrow at the Chase Academy.
Lifters should note that weigh-in time starts at 07:00hrs sharp and first lift of the competition starts two hours later.
The championship will be a treat for both athletes and fans since it will bring together well-trained lifters and create a euphoric atmosphere for supporters present.
As customary, the event will also provide the necessary mark from which the lifters will gauge their progress before the flagship National Seniors Championship.
There would be an entrance fee charged to patrons of $1000 while the Federation would be hosting a fund raising Bar-B- Que at the same venue to help the powerlifting federation offset expenses to compete at upcoming international competitions.
The championship will be sponsored by Jamie Mc Donald, CEO of Fitness Express, Space Gym 2.0 and the Trophy Stall for which the federation is grateful.
Approximately 25 lifters are scheduled to chalk up and compete on the platform.
Additionally, the federation would be hosting a referees clinic, facilitated by International Referee Gordon Spencer at the same venue today from 09:00hrs.
