Orlando Charles, a 45-year-old pilot and businessman of Main Street, Georgetown, was on Thursday charged with 16 counts of trafficking in persons.
Charles appeared at the Bartica Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Christel Lambert via zoom, where the charges were read to him. He pleaded not guilty to all the charges and was placed on $1.3m bail ($85,000) each. The matter was adjourned to 14th June, 2023 for statements.
