Joel DePeazer, 28, of Port Kaituma Water Front, North West District, appeared virtually at the Vreed-en-Hoop Magistrate’s Court before Principal Magistrate Faith McGusty where he was charged with possession of narcotics, disorderly behaviour at the police station, threatening language, assaulting a peace officer, and resisting a peace officer.
The defendant pleaded guilty to the possession of narcotics charge and was sentenced to eight hours of community service. Not guilty pleas were entered for the four other charges. Bail was granted in the sum of $40,000 for the four charges.
DePeazer is expected to make his next court appearance on August 21.
