Dear Editor,
The blackout on updates on Guyana’s EITI status, highlighted in a recent letter (SN June 18), is timely and noteworthy. After it became public knowledge of our suspension from the international body much was said on the embarrassing situation. Since then, nothing further. Was the report submitted within the promised timeframe that it would be? What steps are being taken to ensure our place at this august forum is restored and so too our international image? The silence speaks volumes.
