Undefeated outfit the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) and Santos secured wins on Tuesday evening in the KFC Elite League at the National Training Centre, Providence.
One of three remaining undefeated teams [the other two being Guyana Police Force (GPF) and Western Tigers], GDF outflanked cellar occupant Milerock 7-0.
The contest was effectively over at the conclusion of the first half after the army outfit romped to a 4-0 advantage.
A penalty conversion in the eight minute by Cedric Osborne commenced the rout. This was followed by a Benjamin Opara strike in the 11th minute, the forward curling a right footer into the roof of the right corner from inside the left of the penalty area.
Chris Macey then got into the scoring act in the 31st minute racing to the right side of the box before uncorking a powerful shot into the right corner.
Kenard Simon then capped off a perfect half for the army unit in the 44th minute.
With the contest effectively over, an additional three conversions were recorded by Darrell George, Stephon McDonald and Amos Ramsay in the 50th, 58th, and 69th minute respectively.
Meanwhile, Santos bested Buxton United 2-0. Stephon Reynolds opened the scoring in the 20th minute, lobbing the ball over the advancing goalkeeper into the back of the net.
Lennox Young then sealed the eventual outcome in the 44th minute, slotting home into the back of the net after receiving a pass inside the penalty area.
