Dear Editor,
It seems, from all accounts, some sections of society are not happy that a decision on the way forward in the rape allegation matter has not been arrived at.
The perceived calling for the head on a platter of the alleged perpetrator is tantamount to justice denied and is not how justice is served in a democratized world. Due process must be allowed to take its course.
The matter is a serious one and demands careful consideration and examination of the facts presented in determining advice on the way forward. It cannot be rushed.
The case file was only delivered last Thursday. Give the legal process time to deliver a fair and transparent outcome. Nothing less would be acceptable.
Sincerely,
Shamshun Mohamed
