Algoo’s heroics in vain as Thunderbolts suffer six-wicket loss

Alex Algoo struck 82 for New York Thunderbolts

Alex Algoo continued his remarkable form with the bat in the Commonwealth Cricket League, hitting a half-century but the knock failed to stop New York Thunderbolts from a six-wicket loss to Green Warriors. Winning the toss, Thunderbolts opted to bat first and managed 173 all out in 22.5 overs while Green Warriors reached 175 for four with five overs remaining.

Algoo, a former national U-19 opener, smashed six sixes and eight fours in the top score of 82 from 47 balls. After losing his opening partner, Imran Raja for a two-ball duck, Algoo added 133 runs for the second wicket with Gaurav Jayaswall who made 43 from 40 balls, hitting seven fours and one six.
