The international friendly between Guyana and Ethiopia has been rescheduled to August 5th at the Segra Field in Leesburg, Virginia, United States.
This was confirmed by an official release from the Guyana Football Federation (GFF). According to the correspondence, GFF President Wayne Forde agreed to the alteration in the playing date following a request from the Ethiopian Football Federation, which affords the African nation additional time to secure the relevant clearances and documentation.
The Golden Jaguars senior men’s football team was scheduled to play Ethiopia on July 8th at Sabaru Park in Philadelphia, United States of America. Ethiopia, which is currently ranked 143rd, won the African Cup of Nations in 1962. Guyana is presently seeded 169th.
Forde said, “We are expecting our first outing against an African Nation to be very competitive as we continue to cultivate more sporting relationships within the Confederation of African Football.”
