Twenty-year-old Yeison Hernandez, of ‘C’ Field Sophia, Georgetown, appeared at the George-town Magistrate’s Court on Friday before Acting Chief Magistrate Sherdel lsaacs-Marcus to answer to the capital charge of murder that was laid against him.
It is alleged that on June 18, at ‘C’ Field Sophia, East Coast Demerara, the defendant murdered his father, Eyone Hernandez. The accused and the now deceased had an argument over food. The accused then later armed himself with a knife and stabbed his father to the back of his left thigh. The man later succumbed to his injuries.
The defendant was not required to enter a plea.
