Attoya Harvey took her talents to Trinidad and emerged the female overall winner for the CARICOM 10K road race on Sunday.
Staged in the west-central part of the island in Chaguanas, Harvey won the 16th edition of the event in her debut appearance.
The 17 year-old clocked 41m.58.6s to finish atop the podium finishing ahead of Samantha Shukla (43.21.7) and Laura Limery (44.54.1), the silver and bronze medalists.
Harvey shared that she was elated to win the top prize for Guyana in her first CARICOM 10K. “My coach was my inspiration for participating, he’s consistently motivating me to reach for my dreams”, she stated.
