Dear Editor,
The Caribbean Community, Caricom, is fifty. How time flies. The Community has been around for half a century.
Over in Trinidad, where the Treaty was signed by the four founding fathers, heralding the formation of the Commu-nity, the 45th Heads of Government Meeting is taking place amid Caricom at Fifty events.
A significant milestone of the Commu-nity seems to be passing, hardly recognised. I do not recall seeing anything about events marking Caricom at Fifty locally.
Has Caricom become irrelevant in this its golden anniversary?
Yours faithfully,
Shamshun Mohamed
