Dear Editor,
Now it is forward with the minister’s serial. I regret being unable to identify the minister, a brother in distress, by his name. What follows is the next question, several of them, in fact; and, naturally, those will be the signal for another frenzied extended moment of hysteria in this country. Social media are you ready?
First up: should the minister have been allowed to reign? Or should President Ali have dealt with this matter unambiguously? Next in line: the DPP’s office -what is going on there? Is it for the state of the people’s interests, their concerns, their fears, their peace and rights rent asunder? My concern is what do we have for laws in this country, and very finitely, to whom do those laws apply only? Somebody help me here, please. A child with a situation indicating harm, a Chinese man with a story that pickles a powerhouse, a cohort of women whose stories are stained, smelly, and sickly (party platitudes and ‘pampasettin’ for public relations purposes), a child protection body that can’t determine its head from its heart, and if it has any holiness left. And so on and so forth, ad infinitum and ad nauseum.
Which president, which former president(s), which Attorney General, which DPP office, which Opposition Leader, would consent to presiding proudly over these repeated instances of societal and national incest, of chronic depravity, of what is rankly predatory? Which society of people will be so reprehensible as to now celebrate for or against this costly bailout cloaked in the pristine finery of resignation? For starters, I identify the President, the Vice President, and two female ministers, for a special carved medal for their patented pro forma pieties that are really a worshipful offering to themselves.
Sincerely,
GHK Lall
